DID HARLEY MAKE AN 883 IN 1988 WITH A 4 SPEED TRANS 1 DOWN AND 3 UP? I ROAD ONE THAT SHIFTS 1 DOWN AND 3 UP, IS SOMETHIMG WRONG IT? SEAMS TO SHIFT OUT OK, IT HAS NO TACK, BUT SEEM TO TACKUP IN 4TH GEAR.

Not sure exactly what you're asking - are asking if it's a 4-speed transmission? If so, the answer is yes. My stepdaughter has a 1990 883 and it's 4-speed.
