If you want the best information on insurance, go to a local insurance agent's office (State Farm has been great for us). Shopping for insurance online won't give you any personal attention, and the rates tend to be not as good (seems good at first, but there's usually some hidden issues once you start signing up).

For a financed bike, you'll need full coverage for the lending institution to offer the financing. If you're not financing, you have a bit more freedom of not taking certain coverage, but if your bike and your body are worth anything, you might want to get as much as possible.

Good luck!

Cheers,
Loonette
