i've been out of the loop. need new tires.

#1 Unread post by VermilionX »

hi all.

i need a new front tire. my diablo corsa is already looking pretty dried up.

i don't use the bike for joyrides nowadays but i still want to get a good performance tire for not so much money.

i saw the front pilot power 2ct for 114$, free shipping too at kneedraggers. that price good? can i get a similar performance tire cheaper somewhere else?

thanks.

Verm- that's a good tire at that price. How's the rear tire looking? If the front is dried up the rear may be as well, even if it looks like it has tread.

BTW- welcome back man. What's been going on with you? We've been wondering that question for like... 4...5 years?

I spent my therapy money an a K1200S
The therapy worked, I got a GS now
A touch of insanity crept back in the shape of an R1200R

Lol

I think i got banned or suspended but looks like my account is still active. Hahaha

Anyway, since gas prices went up i stopped recreational riding and just strictly commute.

I went back to my other hobbies. I even formed a rock band. We did shows, wrote songs but it's not a full time things either so no record deals. We did get fortunate enough to play at the house of blues and whiskey a go go in hollywood.

Big new thing for me is that last november '11, i got into road cycling.

I actually just did my 1st century ride last week and just broke the 1k mark last monday. Im at 1070 miles right now. I really like it a lot.

I'm squiding it up on a diff 2wheel right now. Lol

Thanks. Ill go order that tire now. My rear tire is good bec i already replaced it maybe 2 year ago. Still good since i dont out as many miles as i used to..

i just a fuji sl1 pro. it's pretty good but i haven't ridden anything else. only upgrades i've done so far are mostly necessities like my seat, and tires. head and tail light as well since i commute with it now. i wanna wait till i finish my 1st season before i upgrade the wheels.

and i gotta be a rebel somehow so i don't wear spandex. lol. i could rock it though. i'm still pretty slim. 5'9" 135lbs.

The shorts are the things to consider. No seams across the crotch (thank you bicycle gods), less chafing and a nice pad for you... well let's just leave it as it's nice to have. The scary factor... no underwear. And in winter time... riding tights... that's right. tights

oh yeah, im wearing cycling shorts but the baggy MTB kind. i don't think i could have finished the century ride without one. lol

it never gets too cold here in socal so i've been fine with just a jacket and still only shorts. im more worried about the summer. i like cooler weather.

and i don't feel comfy not wearing underwear so i still do under the shorts. i have not had any chaffing either.
