Question about a Goldwing 1500SE (2000)

I sure hope someone can answer this question for me,
I own a 2000 Honda Wing (1500SE) and I am wondering if there is a way to adjust the rear touring trunk back about an inch or so. I looked but I can not figure out anyway to move it back at all.

My back rest has a center post that comes up right between us both. It leaves very little room for my wife to sit without being uncomfortable. I need her comfortable (or there is hell to pay.) I want her comfortable as it makes our ride time enjoyable.

Howdy D.A. and welcome to the forum. I haven't heard of any, but that doesn't mean there aren't any out there. Or that you couldn't make some. How is the touring trunk mounted to the bike anyway?

I know it is not, but it appears as if it is molded to the bike. I have mounted and taken apart many bikes and trunks but I just can not figure out how this one is attached, if I could then I can modify it (Heck I can modify just about anything)

Have you tried a blown-up diagram of that area of the bike to see it there? Might keep you from taking the bike apart until you know for sure what your looking at. Just a thought from a noob.

I also have a 1500 Aspencade (2000) It's a major operation to move the whole top box back as you will have to extend the support bracket for the box. If you did this there would be a gap between the seat and the passenger back rest. The only way out of the problem is to remove the riders back rest....i did this on mine and it gave the wife a lot more room. You will still have lumber support between riders seat and passenger seat, and after a while you get used to riding without the back rest.......
