Harley Sportster 1200
That's my ride. Anyone else ride a Sportster? I'm in my third year of riding and love it. I'm considering buying a Fatboy as I've heard they are easier for women to manage. Is that true? All I know is my Sportster since that's the only thing I've ever ridden, besides my Rebel, but it does seem top heavy. I always have to be careful about balancing...but maybe the heavier bikes are even harder to balance though someone said that with a Sportster you sit ON it but with a Fatboy you are more 'IN' it. Has anyone experienced both and can give some advice?

Re: Harley Sportster 1200
I've had this one for a year and have no plans to replace it with anything else:

It is pretty heavy. Once it starts to tip, it's going to go over. I dropped it once, after putting my foot down on some loose gravel at a stop sign. Now I'm more careful when coming to a stop.
No experience on a Fat Boy, although I did ride a friend's Dyna Superglide years ago. I don't remember much about it, except that I liked it enough to look at Harleys before I bought this one.

Welcome to TMW, Lucky Lady.
If I were going to get a Harley, it would be a Road King for me. I never rode a Sportster so I can't make the comparison.
Enjoy the forums.

That's the cable that Bob's overhead camera system works from.

People say I'm stupid and apathetic. I don't know what that means, and I don't care.

I've ridden both. It's two completely different beasts when it comes to handling. The sporty definitely has more weight up top (more like a sportbike), but the FatBoy is a cruiser with all of the weight down low. As long as you can get it off of the sidestand, you'll be able to hold it up without a problem.

Actually, that's the clutch cable. It looks like it would get snagged on something, but fortunately, it doesn't.
We were driving along the street in front of our apartment and my daughter's boyfriend took the photo from our balcony.
