Almost was new bike day for me.

#1 Unread post by totalmotorcycle »

I have some great news to update you all. Since I sold my last bike in the UK I've been looking to buy one here in Houston and it looks like I did just that*.

* The Story:

Well, I won't tell you what bike I settled on, some of you know what I like so that should give you a clue. This bike has been in climate controled storage since 2009 and has 7700 miles on it. I won't tell you what year it is (that would be too much of a clue). But I will tell you it's over 1000cc. The seller says (and the pics confirm) the bike is in like new condition and has been well taken care of. Unfortunately I can't really go and see it as it's 4 1/2 hour drive each way (small town outside of Dallas).

Yesterday the seller had it picked up by his local motorcycle dealership to get tuned up and fixed up (from all the sitting he didn't want to take the chance of running it with old gas) and hopefully it's back next week and everything is good to go. The bill will be $1000 (or so the seller says) so I hope they are doing quite a bit for the money.

Now, I could have done all the work myself and saved about 1/2 that but I have no way of getting the bike that far away to me unfortunately.

And as Andrea had in her post ( viewtopic.php?f=2&t=45845 )

So, any guesses on what bike I am buying? Here are your hints:

1) It's from one of the major bike manufacturers

2) It's a 700cc or more
hint: it's NOT a 700cc

3) It's no newer than 2009

GAME ON!!!

Good luck!!!

Mike

Based on your history, I'd have to say a large sport touring bike. I want to say a Hayabusa or a ZRX1200.
Have owned - 2001 Suzuki Volusia
Current bike - 2005 Kawasaki Z750S
MMI Graduation date January 9th, 2009. Factory Certifications in Suzuki and Yamaha

Some form of ZX1200.
People say I'm stupid and apathetic. I don't know what that means, and I don't care.

LOL, not bad guesses! (and quite the funny posts too!)

No word yet if the bike is out of the shop unfortunately, but we did have a semi-holiday yesterday. I am crossing my fingers I'll get to pick it up on Friday. :revv:

No idea, but I'm voting for a Speed Triple, just because they're awesome. And it'd be a nice reminder of Merry Olde England.

That said, a Z1000SX would go great with mrstotalmotorcycle's bike, but I think those came out in late '10-early '11.
