Honda Shadow Spirit Baffles?

I bought a used '02 Shadow 1100 and the baffles were removed but I've been getting conflicting reports on the number of baffles that are originally installed and performance issues. Some say there is one baffle in each pipe and some say there are two. I've read where taking out the back baffle does not decrease performance but taking out both do. Anyone have any idea how many are in each pipe? Any performance issues? Should I try and replace them?
