A nighthawk and a winding highway

#1 Unread post by The549 »

...in northern california. Hello! Name's Peter and I'm in northern CA. 19 years old and just came by a '85 nightwawk 450 (great engine, soso otherwise) for $500. Freaked the mom out, although I will be solving that by moving out and being financially independent after next week (40 hrs a week working minimum? Wohoo!).

I've been reading about and looking at bikes for a few months now, and am anxious to get everything else in order to start riding.

See you on the road-
-Peter

Have you taken the MSF course just yet? If not it might be worth a look.

Thanks for the recommendations guys. Of course, after browsing your super forum I figured that out already. Got basic gear on the way and no riding outside of my small private road till msf. Can't wait!

Welcome,

thats the same strategy I'm taking. Keeping to the no traffic, side roads until I know my bike's quirks and I am confident in stop and go handling before I venture into traffic.

California pays for the majority of MSF if you take it before you are 21 years old, so do it now. I think its $75 instead of $230!
Before you judge someone, walk a mile in their shoes. Then, when you do judge them you are a mile away, and you have their shoes.
