Your opinion on name for new gear shop
Hi, my name's Rachel and I'm opening a new motorcycle gear shop. I can't decide if I should have my name in the business name. As a woman I've been given advice that putting my name in the business i.e. " Rachel's Motor Gear", could both attract and deter customers. I would appreciate any opinions or suggestions. I would also love to hear any ideas for names as I have not decided on one yet.

I'd go with something pretty generic so you attract all types of customers. Take a look at popular store names on the net to get ideas.

Provide a great product at a reasonable price, and whatever name you choose will become prestigious and meaningful. Do a sloppy job and even the most clever name will not help. Focus on substance and execution so that you have something of value to market. The name is of no great importance.

Re: Your opinion on name for new gear shop
I guess a name would help if you're famous (or even famous in your community) or if a person's name adds something to the "image" or "authenticity" of the establishment (ie, Auntie Anne's Pretzels, Massimo's Italian Bistro, MacGregor's Irish Pup). Otherwise, naaah.
