JASON ANDERSON EARNS 10TH CONSECUTIVE TOP 10 FINISH IN THE 450 CLASS; MARTIN DAVALOS FINISHES 10TH IN THE 250SX EAST CLASS
@RockstarEnergy #Husqvarna Factory #Racing’s Jason Anderson and Martin Davalos raced in front of a packed crowd at Florida’s historic Daytona International Speedway on Saturday for the 10th round of the 2015 Supercross series. Anderson earned his tenth consecutive top 10 finish in the 450SX class, while Davalos maintained fifth overall in the 250SX East class.
Martin Davalos pulled a mid-pack start in his heat race and pushed through the crowd to finish fifth and transfer to the 250SX East main. In the main, Davalos started in the middle of the pack and steadily advanced to sixth before tipping over in a corner. He remounted, found his rhythm, and finished 10th aboard his Husqvarna FC250. He maintains fifth overall in rider point standings.
"Daytona is a tough race,” said Davalos. “It’s frustrating when I don’t ride like myself. My start wasn’t too bad in the main, but I tightened up and laid it over in main event. I lost a couple positions and struggled to recover.”
Jason Anderson battled in the most entertaining 450SX class heat race of the season. Anderson charged the field on his Husqvarna FC450 after a top five start. He made some exciting passes before taking control of the third place position and transferring to the main. In the main, Anderson got caught up in the first turn with a few riders and was pushed to the back of the pack. He was ninth by the halfway point, and seventh at the checkered flag. After earning his tenth consecutive top 10 finish of the season, he holds on to sixth overall in rider point standings.
“I had my best practice sessions ever today,” said Anderson. “I had a good heat race. I just got into a first turn pileup in the main and ended up outside the top 15, but I worked my way back up to seventh. The track deteriorated pretty bad towards the end of the race, but I had to work my way through it. There were a couple places where I thought I could have been better, but all-in-all it was good. I’m going to keep working from here. I feel like my days are going better, I just need to put the pieces of the puzzle together.”
