Robert Monroe found this photo of the 2006 Yamaha R6 for us:

Check this puppy out, I'm going out on a limb and will predict bike of the year. The new VFR is going to have to be one hell of a looker to beat the R1 this year. Suddenly it's 1998 all over again.
Sure is a real looker! Unfortunately, there is NO information at all associated with the photo and thus I'm unsure if this is a mockup or the real thing. Looks pretty real to me though.
Interesting how they are starting to remove some of the fairing ... Maybe the Naked bike craze is catching?

That's got an Italian sexiness to it.
The last bike was pretty good looking too, and it didn't have the wigger garishness that all the other Asian bikes do, but this blows it out of the water.
Wonder if it'll have more power than the ZX-10.
And speaking of the VFR, its current iteration is a fossil now!
4 years old.
They need to bump that thing up to at least 130 hp given that it's 800ccs and 600 cc bikes put out that much now.
I also expect them to deal with the VTEC silliness and lose the lame linked brakes.

That might have been a typo.
He probably meant 2007.
And yes, if you look closely, you can tell this is a 3D rendering.
Could have meant 2007, but I didn't find it and August was a long time ago for me to remember that detail, but it is possible this might have been the new 2006 model except Yamaha decided against it and bring the old one back again for another year... Things we will never truely know.
Looks good to me. I like how it does have farings but they're sucked in, and conform more to the body of the bike, rather than just being all puffed up.
