#MUSQUIN AND #DUNGEY LEAVE HIGH POINT #RACEWAY WITH RED PLATES
@RedBull @KTM Factory rider Marvin Musquin had a perfect day out that the High Point Raceway in Mt. Morris Pennsylvania when he scored another two impressive race wins in the 250-class of the US Pro Motocross Series. Teammate Ryan Dungey finished 1-2 in his 450-class races and both riders left Round Five with their respective red plates as championship point leaders.
Musquin put in the fastest lap time in the qualifying session for the best gate selection. He then pulled the holeshot and never looked back, leading every lap to win the opening moto by five seconds.
The team’s French rider also got away well in his second moto and was in second place around the first corner then advanced into the lead in Lap Two. He continued to battle for the position for the next few laps before pulling away from the pack and went on to collect his second win for a perfect 1-1 moto score.
“I’m really happy with how today turned out,” stated Musquin. “I had a pretty perfect race and am happy to be in the points lead again.”
450-class
Meanwhile in the 450-class, Dungey was sixth at the start of his opening moto and advanced to fourth in the second lap. By lap six he was in control. At one stage he had a 12-seconds lead over Ken Roczen in second place and he went on to take an easy win.
In the second moto, Dungey was in third at the first turn and second in lap two. He kept the lead rider within a two-second gap for most of the race but lost some ground when he encountered lapped riders. He finished the moto in second and although he had equal points to Roczen, his 1-2 placed him second overall. After Round Five Dungey leads the points by an impressive margin of 37.
“I’m bummed I wasn’t able to stay closer to (Ken) Roczen at the end of the race,” stated Dungey. “I felt good throughout the moto but just struggled at the end through the lappers and was happy to finish second. Being consistent is key to winning a championship so I am happy to be on the podium again.”
Dungey rides the KTM 450 SX-F Factory Edition and Musquin competes on the KTM 250 SX-F Factory Edition. Both Dungey and Musquin are Red Bull Athletes.
