Superb Victory for #Marquez, Strong 2nd for @Pedrosa
What was the strategy in this race?
We knew that both Marc and Dani had a good pace, and they both chose the hardest front tire, so the plan was not take too many risks in the first laps and then try to build a gap with Vale and Jorge. This time everything went as planned and we finished with a fantastic 1-2!
Positive and negative points after the race?
Positive is that after Assen, we confirmed that the bike is working better and better. During the whole weekend Marc and Dani have been constantly fast and comfortable on the bike. We knew this was a good circuit for our machine and also both riders like it so it is very positive we were able to get such a good results. Negative… honestly nothing!
The view from pit wall during the race?
We were pleased to see that Marc was able to put immediately a good gap as soon as he was leading and then managed it. Dani did a great job, battling with Jorge first and Vale after, being able at the end to increase the gap, doing his best lap just 3 laps to go. It means his physical condition is getting better and better and we are super happy for him!
Inside story apart from official comments?
In Sachsenring Fukuo san, Honda R&D President came to visit us and he went to the podium to collect the Constructor trophy. After the ceremony he was leaving the podium but Marc and Dani called him back and… he left it only after a big champagne shower! I hope he enjoyed it and he is not disappointed with our riders!!! He brought good luck to the team so we hope he will come back to visit us soon!
