Hi everyone, does anyone know what these bikes are like? Good for first timers.
1993 SUZUKI SAVAGE 650, black in color, needs work, low kilometers asking $1000 o.b.o
The work needed I'm told is:
New Tires, small seat rip, new battery, brake work, new foot peg.
Thanks for any replys.

"New Tires, small seat rip, new battery, brake work, new foot peg."
It's a good bike, but shop around. Consider that a new one can be had for $4,400 including tax and DMV fees. Why does it need a footpeg, has it been down?
Great beginner bike. Light, but with enough torque to thump down the freeway.

My dad's bike is a good solid bike ('01 model). It's been down 4 times, 3 times have been hard spills, only thing wrong is cosmetic, scrapes, and two snapped foot pegs. We fixed the pegs and the thing runs like new.
Plus it's perfect for beginners, it's big enough you can get a thrill from gunning it and dragging down a stretch, but small enough you won't get into trouble by twitching the throttle over a bump.

the way the bike is designed, if the pegs don't snap on impact the whole forward control system on the side will break off, when I wrecked dad's savage, it was at 10 mph and I lost the front wheel (Thanks an evil twig I wouldnn't have picked up to mow the yard) I nearly snapped it off.
if the peg is bent or broken, it doesn't mean there has been a big fall. hell. it could have fallen off of the kickstand and busted the peg.
