Anyone Hate Amusment Parks?

#1 Unread post by BuzZz »

 Yes I am nothing but a S**tdisturber

I don't really hate amusment parks, just the fact that I have travel several hundred miles to get to the nearest one. As another prairie-boy, I haven't had much occasion to visit many parks, but I have done the Southern California Biggies. Of them I liked Six Flags, mostly because they has the best 'Adult' rides... cool, fast coasters, ect. I will admit I did enjoy Disneyland and Knotts Berry Farm, but enjoyed them the most when I was 12 and there with my folks. Went back years later with my Ex and while it was still cool, it really loses something after puberty. I spent more time looking at the workings of the rides and the various tricks they use to create thier illusions than anything when there.

And the expense..... Man, can you run through cash at these places. I'm surprised they don't charge to use the bathrooms yet, but I'm sure that's coming.

So after you tell us what parks you like in Loonette's thread, spout off about what you don't like about them here.....

Not a bad idea, but I still got a couple of years before I can enter the US again.

I still maintain that a good ride on a good road is better than any rollercoaster ride will ever be. 8)

i used to live directly across the street from Kennywood in PA. the park was so old and beat up, the rides were all small crappy rides etc the park just sucks then they built at the time the worlds biggest and fastest coaster and got way more popular of course. but the rest of the park suckd. they did have good food but again cost was outrageous. you could get the same style ethnic foods outside the park for a fraction of the costs.

Disneyland seriously sucks "O Ring". What an overrated joke. Went a couple years back. It's a barrel of fun if you like waiting in line for two hours for a ride. It can sink into the ocean for all I care.

Lets just say I "dislike" them... P.T. Barum had it right about parting you from your money...

I have never figured out how I could fly in all types of Army rotary and fixed wing aircraft, ride bikes at 70+ mph over humpy roads..love taking high speed turns in fast cars.....but toss my cookies on amusement rides... :(

2 hour trips on the road to get there, 15 mins to find a parking space, 30 mins to get in, 15 mins to walk across the park to the rides with smaller queue's (it helps to go round the park in the opposite direction of the general public to save time on queues), and an hour queing for the best rides....

that's up to 4 hours before you go on anything.... but it IS good fun though

pluss the fact you have to sell a kidney and a lung to be able to afford to enter, and eat

Sorta took the wind outta the sails of Loonette's thread. Sorry Looney...
