buying parts?

Does anyone know of, or have any place they buy parts? I'm kind of sick of going through the dealerships. It is the only place I can get parts around here. I know with my 1960 ford truck I had a magazine that had all the parts I needed in it. Is there such thing for the bike?

I have a 1980 Yamaha XJ650.

could there be a website that i'm missing that works well? Any ideas? Thanks!

cheaper than dealship, even with paying shipping. They ship right away as long as the part is avail. Dealers wait until their order is large enough before placing your order, to same THEM on shipping. Plus, Bike Bandit has online-realtime help.
They are awesome, especially for older bikes like yours.

Where are you located? There's probably a few local salvage yards. They're usually full of old XJ650/750's and you won't find parts less expensive than a salvage yard. Sometimes if you're willing to harvest the part yourself they'll let you have it for free or next to nothing.

Located in Northern Colorado. I know of a salvage place nearby, but this doesn't really do much in the way of electronics. I'd prefer to get new as far as electrionic items, but in terms of mechanical parts, i'm going to check it out as soon as I get a day off work. Thanks!

Ebay is a wonderful thing, but it's worth using the advanced search, so you can find worldwide items.

I save £20 by buying a chain and sprockets in Euro's, than it would have cost me to buy from the exact same company in pounds (they did different prices on each countries version of ebay)
