How does this differ from any synthetic gear you can get at a sporting goods store or even Walmart? I've got full synthetic tee shirts at work from Wally that I paid 6 bucks for. Is there a difference between this and say starter?

I believe the difference is in the proprietary fabric which is always dry against the skin, plus the fact that it's made for riding, so no seams in areas that would lead to discomfort. I haven't tried any of these sporting good products for a head to head, though.
