There are bikes built to go fast, there are bikes built to look good, and then there’s this: the Ducati Imola 860 GT by SABOTAGE CYCLES. Ducati has produced a number of great models throughout the years, but one of their most recognizable models is the legendary GREEN-FRAMED 750 IMOLA. Thing is, the 750 Imola’s rarity makes it incredibly expensive too. If you don’t have massive pockets to spend on, what is effectively a toy, you do the next best thing and build one yourself.
When Sabotage Cycles acquired an order to build a custom 750 Imola one-off, they knew exactly where to start. Take a Ducati 860 GT (a bike that’s almost exactly similar to the Imola 750) and strip it apart. Rather than building a complete replica, Sabotage Cycles went with a naked café racer style bike. The original engine was kept, but the Fuel tank and the tail were painstakingly created from sheets of raw aluminium.
It looks like a naked Imola 750, something the owner was going for as well. That’s one way to get a $110,000 bike without actually spending $110,000. I’ll be surprised if he spent a tenth of that.
