Hello,
I just got a brand new Husqvarna Vitpilen 401. After the bike was delivered I started it up and immediately noticed what looks to be water leaking out of the bottom? It seems to be coming from a hole in what looks to be either the catalytic converter or residence chamber? I am wondering if this is normal or a problem?

I am new to motorcycles and I’d appreciate any insight. Thanks.

The water leaking from the bottom of your Husqvarna Vitpilen 401 is likely just condensation from the exhaust, which is normal when the engine starts up. It usually happens when the engine is cold. If the water continues after the bike warms up or there's too much, it might be worth checking for a coolant leak. Otherwise, it's typically not a problem.

When the engine heats up, water vapor forms as a byproduct of combustion, and some of it can condense inside the exhaust, especially when the bike is cold. The small hole in the catalytic converter or resonance chamber is a drain to let the water out, so it doesn’t collect and cause corrosion.

You’ll notice it more when starting a cold bike, especially in cooler or humid weather. If it’s clear liquid and stops after the bike warms up, there’s nothing to worry about.
