Hi,

I fitted a pair of mini indicators to my xlr a few weeks back but the bulbs keep blowing. they are 12v 23W things and i cant understand why they keep popping. It only seems to be the back ones that are blowing though.

Has anyone got any ideas what it could be and/or how to fix them?

dont know if this has any bearing ,but on a lot of bikes ,when fitting mini indicators you have to fit a unit to slow them down.if they are flashing to quick this could cause them to blow.can you check the wattage on the originals and on the new ones?see if theres a big diff?xjrjohn

Check the ground connection on the indicators. I believe a poor ground can do that.

checked the bulb from the old indicator and that was a 12V 21W bulb.

How do i check the ground connection?
Of the two wires that go into the bulb connector, 1 goes inside and the other wraps around the bulb connector.

I have noticed on a few of the bulbs that the filament is very close to the outside glass casing of the bulb... could this be a factor?
