Is this a fair deal?

2003 Suzuki Volusia 800 9,700 miles, $4,500 from a dealer.
It is a very recent trade in.
It is in excellent condition, does not appear to have been laid down at all.
A couple of small dings on the top of the exhaust pipes but that's it.
Looks like the rear tire might need to be replaced soon.

Now I just need to get my wife over the "I'm spending $4-$5k on the bike and gear"
Secretly I know she wants to ride again.
It's all about the money at this point.

I can certainly understand that. Money is usually the biggest deciding factor in choosing a bike for me, too. Good luck!

Yes. I have seen them for $5,999.00.
$1,500 buys a lot of good riding gear!

I second the motion to ask them to throw in a new rear tire (installed) and you go a descent deal.
I have a 2003 Volusia with 9,800 miles on it. No I won't sell mine to you. Yes, it's going to need a rear tire very soon.
