I had one for my first street bike as well. It was a Honda CX650E and it was a great bike. There was a big difference between the power of the 500 my dad had and the 650 that I had as well as much improved handling. The older (70s) 500s were prone to charging system troubles but otherwise were pretty indestructable. You can buy them for next to nothing and there should be tons of parts still available at the wreckers for them.

actually that would be a logitudinal (crankshaft plane paralell to the bike) V-twin. most bike engines are mounted transverse (crankshaft plane perpendicular to the bike).
Ive never seen a cx like that one. most ive seen are UJM styled.
there was also a turbocharged version of the cx too
cxs do seem to sell for next to nothing.

They never sold them in the U.S. like the one above. I had one in Canada and when I rode it in the states it was a great conversation starter. It was actually a really decent touring bike.jmillheiser wrote:actually that would be a logitudinal (crankshaft plane paralell to the bike) V-twin. most bike engines are mounted transverse (crankshaft plane perpendicular to the bike).
