I am a new rider, haven't ridden a motorcycle since I was a kid. I am looking to buy something and can't quite decide what is best for my needs. The two I am looking at are a 1998 Honda VT750 Shadow and a 2001 Suzuki Bandit 600, both used. I am looking for something to ride to work and to take on the odd trip. I have buddies that ride cruisers and other that ride sport tourers. I want something that is easy to handle, is comfortable to ride for a few hours at a time and that I won't kill myself on. I am 35 years old and past being too stupid, so I won't be racing through the twisties, popping wheelies or lighting them up. I am a collision analyst who measures up motorcycle crashes, so I have seen what stupidity can do.
So, my question is, what is the best choice?
