Finally got registered with my local MSF people for October 21-23.
Pretty psyched about it, even if it is quite a ways away.
It cost me $180 to take it. Is that a flat fee or a fee set up by the people teaching it?
And the question is, how much will equipment cost once I'm done with the course? (they're providing everything for the course)
I know it'll vary from place to place but on average how much would it cost for the helmet, gloves, jacket, and shoes (boots or whatever)?
And where's a good place to purchase said stuff new (or used but still good quality).
Registered for my MSF course...and a few questions.
I recently completed the course in Virginia ($105) and have bought myself a helmet already ($120 for a Scorpion helmet) I suggest you get a brand new Helmet as you would not know if the helmet was compromised on the internal safety foam by looking at it.
Haven't really priced the jacket and boots yet but gloves will go for anywhere from $15-$40.
Good luck

I just took the MSF course this weekend. Its only $15 in wyoming (it varies from state to state depending on how much subsidy the state grants the program, wyoming happens to pour a lot of funds into their MSF program).
The course was a blast, the instructors were very good even if you have zero riding experience like I did. They cover just about everything and you spend most of the time during the course on a bike.
As for gear check your local motorcycle shops or one of the many websites that sells gear (at least locally you can see if it fits before committing).
