good read I do have a questions though, since my bike is an old piece of sh@# and I am running premix (about 32:1) can I still use stabil and leave the gas/oil in the tank or do I have to do something different because of the premix?
Winterize? My only acknowledgement of winter is to wear warmer riding clothes. Never, or nearly never snows or freezes in the vacation paradise where I live.

I can relate. Here in PHX winter is the time of year you can go out riding without fear of heat stroke. It's some of the best riding weather we get all year.
Your just jealous that you can't store your bike away for months while you sit there depressed and freezing your nuts off..... no wait, that's not right............
Remove the spark plugs and pour a tablespoon (5 cc) of clean engine oil or spray fogging oil into each cylinder. Be sure to switch off the fuel before you crank the engine or else you may refill the drained carbs! Also, ground the ignition leads to prevent sparks igniting any fuel residue. Turn the engine over several revolutions to spread the oil around and then reinstall the plugs. Refitting the plugs before cranking the engine could result in a hydraulic lock if too much oil was used in the cylinder.
Ok, dumb question time - how do I crank the engine over without running it? I'm assuming this is manually cranking it, but how? Is it just a matter of spinning the rear tire? Or am I completely off?
