does the idle misture screw
affect the bike at higher rpm?
or is it just for iddling?
meaning does it affect the mixture while cruising?

just idling
All it does is set the gap that the throttle butterflys have when the throttle is closed.

hmm ok that what i thought
but heard somewhere that it does.
and then i kinda thought my bike did,
not accelerate ok when too lean!
so once the accelalator takes over it dont matter?
ill have to tell my bike u said so
anyway its a 2 stroke
so its kinda hecktic anyway!
anyone know anything about the yamaha ag200?
went to the dealer and it was soo cheap!!

Tech,
I agree with the idling only part, but doesn't the idle speed screw set the butterfly gap and the idle mixture screw (often plugged on newer bikes) regulate the air/fuel mixture in the idle circuit?

the idle mixture screw does indeed control the idle circuit, which is a circuit that flows fuel at all throttle openings.

Yes.

Sorry for the (my) confusion. It still only affects the bike at idle. Due to the nature of vaccuum and venturi (bertolli's priciple, etc) when the throttle opens about 1/8th of the way, the needle jet/jet needle control the fuel/air mix entering the cylinder..
