another question !
I got my cheap insurance through an online broker .....turns out it was cheaper 'cause if you want a cover note they charge £50 ....thats fine cause the premium was real cheap . However the broker tells me that although i won't have a cover note my insurance will be active from monday coming and that i can legally ride my new scooter til the documents reach me...does this sound right?

If you are sure they will send it to you, and they are a decent company, then yes. However, if you need to tax the bike, you won't be able to without the note.
Personally, i would be wary of any company that wants to charge me £50 for a covernote. What's the site you bought the insurance off?

Don't give up.

I have heard of them before, they do have a pretty good reputation, too. As long as the docs are on the way, you should be fine on Monday. The only times you need your docs is when you tax the bike, or if you get pulled over by a cop and given a "Producer". This means you have to take all of your paperwork to your nearest cop-shop within 14 days. So, as long as your docs will be there in that amount of time, I don't see you having any problems....

cheers Keyoke
Oh cheers man, that makes me feel a good bit better now
Thing is my premium was incredibly cheap and if i had in fact payed the £50 charge for a cover note it would have brought my premium cost up to what most other companies were quoting me.
Do insurance documents generally take a long time to come through?

Depends largely on the company, and on the post in your area. I'm now with Carole Nash, renewed last week. The docs were out within 3 days - before the renewal was even due!
