Today Chris and I went into the local Kaw dealer just to kill time while my truck was in the shop. They had an '06 vulcan 750. It looked so retro sitting there next to all the others (also a Honda dealer). I was shocke when Jeremy said, "You know, the new cruisers sure look nice. But, they really chop out the features to get that look. This bike has more of everything, and is a better bike IMHO, than the others. It just doesn't have the look. Hydraulic valves, shaft drive, air ride shocks with outside springs and 4 position preload. " Lower maintenance, lower price (6299)...and it will probably sit there for a year before they chop the price on it and sell it for under $6000.
This came out of the guy that told Chris a vulcan 1500 would be an okay starter bike. Chris weighed about 125 at the time and had never been on a motorcycle except as a small child with me in someone's yard. It was good to hear him say those things. Added a little credibilty to the shop.
