starter problem?

#1 Unread post by gitarjunky »

hi guys, i've posted from time to time, but this info is actually for a friend of mine, and it pertains to a car, but i'm sure someone can help me out...he has a 1995 toyota camry, 4 banger, and he says that he just got the battery and the alternator checked and they turned out a-ok. however, when he starts his car, he has to hold the key in the 'on' position for an abnormal amount of time before it catches and turns over....i'm thinking it has something to do with a starter motor but hey, what do i know? thanks in advance for the awesome answers that i know i'm going to get!

Could be a bad ignition switch. Loose connection under the dash.

Bet the ig. switch is worn though.
