oil injection

#1 Unread post by fireguzzi »

I have a mx 100 im going to try and get togather. I am short an oil pump and oil tank. The local cycle graveyards dont seem to have them around. So i was thinking i could just do away with it and pre mix the gas and oil.
When i worked on 2 stroke boat motors, the mariner's had a problem with a plastic worm gear getting boogered up. That called for completly seperating the power head. (engine) And most people didnt want to do that. so we would disconnect the VRO pump (oil pump), and tell them to premix. I just wanted to get some more opinions about doing it on a bike, before i seize my motor.
P.S. its a 1979 mx 100 yamy

Save yourself the time and effort of fixing up the injection system. Run it on pre-mix. Modern oils are great, can be used at lower ratios, burn cleaner... they won't hurt the bike. (the old oils wouldn't hurt it none, either...)
No Witnesses.... :shifty:
