Lace Spokes Wheel.

#1 Unread post by JustJames »

Any have an expericens of lacing spokes wheel yourself? I found out that one broken spoke on my rear wheel. I can have it fixed but that will cost my $140.00. I also can buy only one replacement spoke for a couple bucks. I would like to know if I can lace the spoke myself while wheel on the bike.

My thinking is, Lift the bike up, flat the rear tire, push the tire & tube to one side so I can access the back rim to install new nipple, take of broken spoke and replace with new SS one, tighten it up.

if you can use the old nipple you wont even have to flatten the tire.

......but only if your rotor and sprocket will let you thread the new spoke into the hub in the first place......
