i was given a cb 550 and i rebuilt the carbs.it sat on its side for awhile(years). i got it started it ran nicely.
i did a compression test it was 125 psi on all 4 cyl.
will the compression rise when its run some more and sealing the rings up.or is it going to be needing a rebuild soon.and is it still pretty easy to get rings for it.would i only probabl;y need rings and a hone.i was thinking valve train as well.i will drive it this spring i think and slowly buy the rebuild stuff and rebuild it next winter.what do you guys think.oh it doesnt smoke when running.

If it's older, than a rebuild wouldn't hurt. If the re-honing is a good idea, as is the valve-train, getting the valves re-seated will make it overall smoother when you revv it up.

An even 125psi across the block? I wouldn't touch it until it starts to lose compression or gives other problems. If it ain't broke......
