Damn! These don't come around very often. I sure wish I could justify the $$$$ I have always loved this bike......

I too loved the RC30's from the moment they came out. That single sided swingarm did it for me.
They don't appear to have gotten any cheaper either. :shock:

That is definitely a sharp bike. Why is the price so high on those?? Rareity?

I believe they were only produced in small numbers to make the model available for production and/or superbike racing.

At the time they were full of racing goodies that were unavailable on any streetbike, so they went like a stung cat.

When they first appeared in '88 they were over $15Gs Canadian and were not very well understood by the press. With it's close ratio gearbox and super-tall first gear they were quarter-mile slow compared to the ZX7 and GSXR750 of the time (and was all that seemed to matter to the press back then). If you look at that frame however and consider the year that it was released, you can see how far ahead of it's time tht it really was. Here is a link to a recent Smart-Money artical in Motorcyclist:
