draft and slip stream?

from what i gather... draft is when you get a speed boost from following a fast rider in front of you that may help you pass him. is this right?

so what's slip stream?

That's what he rides in when he's drafting you.

Slipstream is the area of low pressure behind a bike(or car, etc.), the hole it punches through the air. It is the place you must be in order to draft.

Drafting is the act of riding within that low pressure zone of another bike, then using the fact that your bike has less air pressure to work against as 'extra' horse power to pass the rider who opened that hole with his bike.

Once again, your getting so far ahead of yourself that your gonna lap yourself. You won't need to worry about drafting anybody until your well into your trackdays. If then. It's more of a competition move.

I used to do that on my old CJ7, but that was because unless I was riding in the draft of a semi on the freeway, it couldn't go above 55mph!

of course not, i don't intend to tailgate other cars and trucks close enough to take advantage of a draft.

besides, unless im following a turbo charged sport car or a supersport car, i can pass anything else on the road even w/o drafting.

i just wanna know the concepts they talk about on the races. i've been watching a lot of racing lately on speed channel.
