LA drivers

#1 Unread post by ninja79 »

My first encounter with "LA driver" happened this morning. Some stupid grandma pulled out in front of me. She was trying to make a left turn from a side street, but the opposite side of the road was full. So the stupid b**** happily pulled out right in front of me and stopped in the middle of the road. I jammed the breaks, skid, nearly dropped my bike, but managed to stop like 2 feet in front of her. I beeped at her after I stopped -- no reaction whatsoever! Some people just should be driving.

I must say though, up until now, my encounters with cagers have been mostly positive. They even get out of the way when I'm splitting lanes to get to the front of the red light.

Carry a large wrench in your pocket or hang it somewhere on your bike, then when people do that you throw the wrench at their car... that will get their attention.

Only been to L.A. once; only found that people are really aggressive with the horns. If you're at a light and not right on the gas AS SOON as it turns green, you're being honked at.

But overall, I found that Montreal drivers are a ton worse.

Not a good idea, the wrench can be traced back to you. But what you COULD do is keep a bunch of rocks in your tank bag, and let them slip.

"Oh gee officer" I guess that got kicked up by my back tire or something, I don't know how that could have happened.
Of course I'm generalizing from a single example here, but everyone does that. At least I do.
