If you're serious -
Pick a bike with a high demand for parts. The GL1500 was made for thirteen years, and they have been known to go 300,000 miles or more.
There are a bunch of them on the road, and their owners typically ride the hell out of them. (ask me how I know) I've bought plenty of 1500 stuff from fleaBay ...

I won't miss 'em
I rarely used the dealers for anything. I always buy used, do all my own work, and get most of my parts and supplies from eBay or Dennis Kirk.
Ron Ayers is the most cost-effective source for factory parts I've found.
Factory support for over 20-year-old iron is weak, at best.

We got one for the Wife's EN500 . . .
. . . on Amazon. Nice hardbound version for $20 something . .
It covers the wee Ninjas, too - and is nicely done. Haynes, I think.
Vulcan 500 is a great little bike.

Hey, Man.
You out by Raystown Lake ?? We never take the bikes out there, we always pull a boat when we're headed that direction. Great skiing lake.
Any good scooter rides around the area ??

A compromise.
I don't believe any flip -up helmets pass the SNELL approval tests, as the they involve side impact resistance. The structural integrity of the temple area of the modular helmet has been substantially compromised for the hinge assembly.

I bought my Wife a Vulcan 500 last year - she is "altitude impaired" , and it has a 28.5" seat height. She has bags on it, and we're thinking of a windshield this fall. It's light, reasonably-priced, good-looking, has a reputation for ...

Be glad it wasn't your old Interstate 1200 - some of your intestines may still be laying outside, next to the scoot !!

Not a 6
I had to go look that one up. In the U.S. - the most famous (only?) Hondas to wear the "CBX" badge were 1047cc, 24 valve, DOHC, 6 cylinder monsters.
I envisioned a 6 cylinder 250 !! That is a neat-looking little scooter, and it's good to see a DOHC single from Big Red. The KLR650s really hammered ...
