2.5 turns out
So I did it, 2.5 turns out on each. I also checked the fuel level with the tubing like the manual says, and it seems fine. Do I need to balance the carbs again now? It still revs high, do I need to turn the mixture screws a bit more? I don't think the idle is too high because it seems to want to die ...

pilot adjustment screw
Is there a valid reason why my Haynes manual say "do not attempt adjustment" referring to the mixture/pilot adjustment screw?

too lean ,ugh
Thanks for the help so far....
At risk of seeming like a moron, how does one resolve this too lean issue? From what I've read, too lean can really destroy things. These carbs are driving me crazy. just when I think I'm close, I find out that I'm further away. I want to take my bike for a ride but I ...

idle
When it is warming up, i take the choke off and it seems like it wants to die. I give it a little gas. after things start to seem okay, when I rev it a little, it starts to stick or just increase. it seems like i'm really hitting the gas but I'm not.

so close, idle, throttle trouble
I've been fixing problem after problem on my Yamaha XJ750 Seca for weeks now, and I'm almost there. I balanced my carbs, and now my bike runs okay but when it gets warmed up the throttle seems to get stuck or just start revving really high. What do I need to adjust to fix this?
Thanks.
Thanks.

exhaust
Is it possible to exchange the exhaust system on a 1983 Yamaha XJ750 maxim for the exhaust system on a XJ650. My friend want to exchange the 4 to 1 pipes on his maxim for the 4 to 2 system from a XJ650.
Thanks,
Nozzlegoblin.

oops
I must have overlooked Wrider's reply. If that's the case, would a whole bunch flow out at once?

here I go again
(Just to recount the original issue) It was a few weeks ago when I started my bike and shut it down, I heard liquid pouring and noticed oil flowing out all over the ground. It was dark and I could not pinpoint the source. Alright, it took 2 weeks plus but the Haynes manual finally came in the mail ...

oil
I don't have a manual, the guy I bought it from couldn't find it. I did download and print a genuine parts catalog. When I first saw the bike we were painstakingly trying to start it and we thought it had too much oil. We drained it and put a little fresh back in. When I got it home, I put more in ...
