i'd probably be pissed at him, but if i started turning left(intentionally or unintentionally) when he came next to me....i'd be like "fudge" , i should've looked over the shoulder before i turned.
So you'd be mad at him for doing what you just did?
Maybe you should think about that next time you do something stupid.
I went for a ride with a friend a while back. We were waiting to turn right at a red light, there were two lanes coming towards us. There were 4 or 5 cars in the far lane, and the close lane (the one I was going to turn into) was empty. Because we had gotten there as the light turned red (for us) all the cars were lined up waiting to go. So I did a full stop, and put my foot down. Checked left then went.
Car suddenly slammed on its brakes behind me. The lady had changed lanes in the intersection and figured that I'd cut her off. Changing lanes in the intersection is illegal, but she blamed me for the near accident.
I don't know if passing on the left in a residential area is illegal... but it seems to me that if it's anything like my area you just crossed a solid yellow line (no passing). You're blaming this guy for your mistake.
To compound that problem, you slammed on your brakes and locked up your tire, indicating that you're still not in full control of your bike...
Of course I'm generalizing from a single example here, but everyone does that. At least I do.
