Is it just me? Why do most Harley riders not wave back?

I think it also has alot to do with location. Here in AL pretty much all the bikers I've encountered, regardless of bike type, give a good wave. Every once in a while a SQUID will fly past and not, but that's a rarity.

mostly it's a form of fraternity where people who share the same passion acknowledge each other...and it ticks of the cagers since we don't wave to themI don't understand what this Wave deal is about

as to who waves to who, i rode a little 125cc scooter around for a day a while back and waved at everyone...everyone waved back including a guy on a fatboy. /shrug think i was 15/15 that day in waves

i started out ignoring scooters (because i am kind of a P rick occasionally) and then afer giving i tthought they get gauraunteed waves now. Not only are they out there exposed like us on two wheel ssans cage....they dont have the power for escape velocity in uhoh situations. So now waves are for all two wheelers....but i dont do "cool" waves big friendly overhand and highly visible waves. Goofy is good.
Dyin'? Boy, he can have this little life any time he wants to. Do ya hear that? Are ya hearin' it? Come on. You're welcome to it, ol' timer. Let me know you're up there. Come on. Love me, hate me, kill me, anything. Just let me know it.

i usually dont wave i just don't really like waving.
"heeeeyyyy my 2 wheeled friends"
i do wave occasionally though, but only if they wave first and well, im not makin a left turn(gets abit tricky[n00b])
though now since it's put that wayand it ticks of the cagers since we don't wave to them

I flash my brights at oncoming traffic during the daytime regularly. I am just trying to make sure they see me so they dont try using my lane to pass slower traffic. I have thought that they may think I am trying to warn them of a speed trap as well. If thats what they think, then they should be even less likely to pull into my lane for a pass.Sevulturus wrote:Dunno, I find I've got about a 75% chance of getting waved at regardless of what kind of bike is passing me.
Once I had a guy flash his brights instead of wave. I spent the next 10 km looking for a speed trap.
I wave to everyone, most wave back if they didnt wave first. Most of the Harley riders will wave too. I had one stop next to me in my lane and strike up a conversation at a light yesterday.
