Couple questions about my Vulcan 800.

#1 Unread post by Tim B. »

When changing exhausts do you also need to change the jets in the carb? If so I need suggestions as to which pipes and which jets.

Question two: How much play should there be in the chain? It sounds like the chain sometimes is hitting either the frame or the gaurd, I'm guessing it is too loose.

Any help or suggestions will be appreciated! Thanks.
I don't mind a little junk in the trunk!

When one changes the exhaust pipes the air flow through the carbs will also change; therefore, the need for different carb jetting is needed.
The pipe manufacturer can tell you what jet you will need with thier pipes.

Usually 1/2" to 1" play in the chain is enough tension to keep your sprokets from excessive premature wear. Consult your owners handbook for the proper tension.

Hope this helps you.
