I saw a chart somewhere once that gave ratings of different materials on pavement. I think it was some European standards thingy. I remember it said jeans have a .6 rating. Meaning jeans will shred within .6 seconds after impacting pavement.
Do you know the ratings for typical textile or leather jackets?

Yeah, I do you can find it over here:

hmmm, well I did find this

And It's not untrue eather as I have lowsided twice on my motorcycle once going 10mph and the other time going 40mph, the jeans didn't shred, although under my jeans I still got some minor scrapes, and I got a bruised knee also, anyways It was enough to make me go out and buy some Joe rocket pants with knee and shin protection, only thing thats left on my gear list is some true motorcycle boots, my current ones only come up about 7inches.
Although I guess it could of been that I'm wearing thick jeans, when I first got them they where very stiff but I've had them for 3 years, and I guess they where the best pair I got cause my other two pair I got where damn fashion jeans (luckys) and they where sheded by bicycle slides, my 20Xs have held up though.
