Picture the chain on your bike. Now imagine reaching in and wrapping your fist around the chain. Now imagine inside the palm of your hand you have a bristles. Now, image you feed a hose between your fingers and feed lube in from a spray can. That is how the tool works. It wraps around the chain with a brush on the inside. You spray lube in and it breaks down the gunk and cleans the chain.
