TMW crashing your computer?

#1 Unread post by isaac »

Is anybody else having problems with this board crashing their web browser? I’m using Safari and Explorer on my mac at work and this is the only forum that crashes those programs. It’s happening so quickly now that I’ve had trouble even staying on the board long enough to be able to post this without a crash happening. I actually typed this out beforehand then copied and pasted it in.

Another weird symptom: Instead of the pop ups just popping up like normal, they’re strobing on and off very quickly, then showing up or the program crashes before that happens.

I have also had trouble with Safari on the TMW site. Lately I have also been having plenty of trouble with Safari on Google's Gmail servers. It's very very slow. Safari also does not work with maps.google.com. There are a number of minor problems with Safari now. Apple needs to release an update to Safari. It's been quite a while since we have seen anything from them.

I switched to Firefox on all my PCs sometime ago over IE, it's really much better than IE. IE isn't even an option for the Mac anymore, it hasn't been updated since OS X came out and Microsoft has said they are not going to develop any new versions for the Mac OS. I have Firefox installed on my Mac and it's been there for some time but I kept using Safari because it was all setup with my bookmarks.

Lately I have been using Firefox more and more on the Mac and it seems to be working great with TMW as well as all the other sites I mentioned. Give it a try, it's free.

No problems with this board crashing my computer. I don't really need any help with that, I can crash it all by my self. :)
Live it like you mean it, this ain't no dress rehearsal!

First time I've ever heard anything about the TMW causing anything to crash at all... I'm sorry you are encountering some crashing problems, but I do not believe it is TMW that is causing it in anyway.

I use Internet Explorer 6 and it works like a charm and I'm on all the time, everyday.

I would try using a main internet browser like IE6 and your problems may go away... Or maybe reinstalling your browser may help too.

Also I would run Adaware to get rid of any really bad malware that might be running on your computer. Malware is REALLY BAD, it slows your computer down, causes it to crash and can report everything you do on the net back to its servers.

BTW: Total Motorcycle only runs normal ads, no spyware or malware here. Although we do use normal everyday cookies (eg. when you log in it will give you the option of a "Always log me in" cookie).

I use Opera with no problems at all. I stay away from IE personally. Leaves your pc open to malicious attacks and plenty of adware and spyware.

No adverse affects on my comp, before or after D-day. Running a straight E.I browser....

I have been considering switching to Firefox, but my computer illiteracy makes me nervous to actually do it. Does a dumbfluck like me stand a chance with this, or what, Keysman?
No Witnesses.... :shifty:

I've had trouble also with mozilla and IE. Last night when I clicked on a topic i got this fly buzzing sound. I left the site and ran spybot and norton, but didn't find anything unusual.
