i was going for my afterwork joyride tonight and was on a parkway intown and i saw a straight with no traffic. i gunned it in first and shifted into second near redline and pulled an accidental wheelie for a split second. i was in a 45 zone and let off immediately into second so i was probably going 80ish, i looked into oncoming traffic and saw a cop. as luck would have it he had seen everything id done and was on me within seconds. i pulled into a gas station, got off the bike and was expecting to be greeted by handcuffs, but instead was greeted by "---- that bike sounds mean!" he proceeded to circle the bike a few times, and then we shot the --- for a few minutes. instead of asking for license and registration the guy asked for my number so he could go ride with my group this week. yall keep this in mind next time you get pulled over

i hear ya man, but when the opportunity presents itself, sometimes its hard to resistjmillheiser wrote:straight roads and sportbikes = boring
the high speed thing doesn't really give me any rush. I have had my bandit up to 120 and didn't really give me any rush. I have more fun at 50mph in the twisties than I do at triple digit speeds on a straight road.

I got pulled over by the local Sherrif. Not a deputy, the actual sherrif. I was going about 20mph over the speed limit and had just popped a pretty big wheelie.
He said to take it easy, that the local cops were jerks and if I wanted to open it up, to go somewhere where people weren't.
He let me go with just a verbal warning.
He also got my vote in the next election!

Were the tickets for going 163 mph...if all he did was give you a ticket, then we was being considerate...VermilionX wrote:you got lucky that he was a rider too.
come to think of it... i could have lost my license when i did 163mph on the freeway last sunday, and also last monday when i did 150mph.
it's so boring riding straight though, so that's why i speed. or maybe i should just avoid empty freeways.
PS. i don't see cops as A-holes eventhough they gave me 2 tickets already. i just wish they were more considerate like the one that you met D86.

You should already know VermilionX that going that fast on a public road is not only illegal but extremely dumb. The odds of something very bad happening are much higher than you want to believe and it really is not worth loosing your life or a lifetime of riding for that. Riding in that manner gives all us motorcyclists a bad rap. Other than hurting yourself you could hurt others and there is nothing that is worth that.VermilionX wrote:come to think of it... i could have lost my license when i did 163mph on the freeway last sunday, and also last monday when i did 150mph.
Slow down, obey the laws, ride safe, live long and have fun by riding responsibily.
