Commissioner Barbara Gross said the ordinance can be left to interpretation.

"I'm so sick of this," said Gross, who originally brought the issue up last month to commissioners for consideration. "Motorcycles were tearing up areas on the east end of town too."

Gross said motorcycles are licensed vehicles and allowed on public roads.
Read it carefully... "Motorcycles were tearing up areas on the east end of town too." Not Dirtbikes, not scooters, not ATV's... Motorcycles.
Of course I'm generalizing from a single example here, but everyone does that. At least I do.

Yup that's Florida, it's just west of Lake Ockeechobee. I had no idea they had passed that, but looks like they are trying to fix it so it dosent include motorcycles. I think i'll steer clear of that town anyways. Someone needs a crash course in terminology.

Yes, I know, and the guy in question was quite obviously talking about OFF ROAD VEHICLES tearing up public land. You're making the same exact mistake these people did by assuming he's talking about *ALL* bikes when it is quite obvious what is meant.
It may be obvious what he meant, but what is written into the ordinance is "Motorcycles". So regardless of what was meant, motorcycles are banned. And until the ordinance is re-written to specify "dirt bikes" instead of the all encompassing "motorcycles" it is illegal to ride motorcycles in said town. Now, obviously the LEO's are exercising common sense in regards to actual motorcycles riding in town. But either way, it is a very poorly written ordinance passed by overzealous council members. Hopefully they will rectify the situation soon.
A dog had his chain reduced one link at a time, every few days, until his chain was so short he could barely move. He never resisted because he was conditioned to the loss of his freedom slowly, over time. Are we in this country becoming like the dog?

Can you imagine the backlash if every motorcycle was ticketed just for being ridden?
