Prevent fan from running after shut off.

I have a 2004 Susuki Katana 600 and would like to know how to prevent the fan from running after I shut off the bike? I am speculating that the fan runs after the bike is shut off for some emissions control reason (fuel fumes, etc), but it runs my battery down. Having a fan run after the bike shuts off really sucks.

The fan as in the radiator fan? Don't think you'd wanna shut that down it's cooling your bike down.

No, there is another fan on the left side of the bike. In the farring there is a grilled hole were the air from that fan exits the bike. Again, I am thinking its purpose is for some sort of emissions control, but am not sure.

The only fan your bike should have is the cooling fan which is supposed to run after shut-off to keep cooling the engine. It should not, however, run for very long - certainly not long enough to kill your battery. Either the thermostat is bad or your charging system needs attention.

California emissions is met by having a fan cool down the carburator bowls after bike shutoff to slow down fuel vaporization (if I recall correctly). It doesn't evacuate the fuel into the air, it tries to slow or prevent it from occuring.
