emoticons, BB code attachment.

#1 Unread post by VermilionX »

hi mike,

i was wondering if you can fix the emoticons and BB codes attachment.

what i mean by that is that currently... when you select a BB code or emoticon... they always appear on the bottom of your post.

it would be great if they could appear where your cursor is. so we don't have to cut and paste it or type it manually if we want to insert it in between our post.

thanks

My phpbb board puts smilies where the cursor is (even if you drop one in from the popup window) but it always puts the bbcode at the end unless you have something selected, then it wraps it with a open/close code also. I think its just the way phpbb is coded.

Yes, it's true, if you do not have the cursor where you want the code to start then the BB code just dumps it and the end of your message.

In this paragraph, to insert a smilie here  (I didn't do it as I'm going to do it after I finish this paragrah to make sure it works). Just click with your cursor the spot in the sentance where you want a smilie. Then click on View More Emoticons, when the list has loaded click on the smilie you want and it should appear right where the cursor is. Make sure the cursor isn't just "over the spot" but that the flashing cursor is AT the spot. Ok, I'll go back and insert that smilie there now. :D

Worked fine for me, I bet you just are not clicking and having the cursor "I" beam at the spot, so its just dumping the smilie at the end of your message.
