Hello from a soon-to-be new biker

#1 Unread post by DustyJacket »

I've been reading this site for a few months, but only signed up today. I used to spend a LOT of time on beginnerbikes.com before it went away. (Admin NOTE: DO NOT GO TO THAT SITE AS IT IS A POPUP/SPYWARE SITE RIGHT NOW).

I own a picture of a motorcycle.
That's it. I am scheduled to take the Rider's Edge beginner's class starting 14 April. There will be no bike before then.

Hi Dusty,

:welcome:

I LOVE the tricycle picture you have chosen for your avatar! Welcome to our community. It is nice to see you are going to brush up on your biker knowledge as you begin your biking journey. We are all a fun bunch, and hopefully we help you to enjoy your experience.

As you come up with questions, don't hesitate to ask!

Andrea :)

PS: I moved your post to a new thread so that people would know to say Hello to you!

yo dusty, welcome to the group.

sounds like you've caught a bad motorcycle fever, once you've got the course under your belt make sure to feed your sickness with 2 wheels and some pavement, that should help make the pain go away 8)

Thanks for all your welcome messages. I like this place. :D

Yes, I have it bad. I've read motorcycling for Idiots, profiecient motorcycling, more proficient motocycling, and now that I am finally going to take the class, I can barely stand the wait.....

See: http://www.dustyjacket.com/mc/index.html for this saga that started ariound 1968 or 68.....

I'll certainly be asking a lot.

When I learn something that does not seem to be common knowledge, I'll be happy to share.

A very warm welcome to you Dusty!

:welcome:

Wow, you are about to enter the very exciting world of motorcycling for the first time! You will LOVE it!!! Remember that we do have a New Bikers Forum you will find useful and helpful to post your and anyones new biker questions in.

I just checked myself just now and yes, sadly beginnerbikes.com is gone. (NOTE: DO NOT GO TO THAT SITE AS IT IS A POPUP/SPYWARE SITE RIGHT NOW). I remember long ago how that site inspired me to make a beginning bikers guide on Total Motorcycle. Then their forum was gone and then the site itself now.

You and the abandoned beginnerbikes.com members are welcome pull up a chair here and to join our friendly community!

Always room for more...

Hey Dusty, welcome to the site! Stick around, this is a great community. I love that avatar. When I first signed up for an account here at Total Motorcycle about 14 months ago I saw that I was a "Tricycle Squid" and I just had to have a tricycle avatar. I uploaded it and used it until I got my bike and then donated it to the gallery. I don't know why but not many people seem to use it. You enjoy it and I hope you don't have to keep it long! In other words good luck on getting a bike soon!
