It's all about spending time with her so it's not too important what you do.

You can be crazy creative. I once had a midnight date where I took a girl out on a night sailing cruise in the full moon to a small deserted island, built up a fire, cooked for her, walked around the island talking and occasionally going in the water (still reminds me of jaws to be in the water at night) and then laying out watching the sun come up.

Did she dig it? Hells yeah

Was it the most fun I'd ever had? Only b/c she was there- otherwise it would have been alright...

Im gonna second Blues idea with shooting a few racks of pool. Or why not hit a place with a live band.

Night golf, if available in your area is supposed to be kinda fun....

Rock Climbing
Of course I'm generalizing from a single example here, but everyone does that. At least I do.

*smacks hand into forehead*

Ask HER what she wants to do?

What's her fav hangout etc etc etc. She's active, so surely she has something. Rollerblading, bike ride, golf, jogging... something?

yeah but asking a girl what they want to do in that situation usually doesnt work because a)girls and indecisive as a whole and b)girls like assertive guys that make decisions

I did say "usually" 8)

You might actually be a decisive girl, which is good actually, I wish there were more...but let me ask you...

Are you saying that there are a considerable amount of girls that like guys that arent assertive and passive?

I guess thats cool and all but doesnt sound like it'd be that fun :P

There is a happy medium between assertive and passive - those aren't the only two choices!

Most women I know would rather have an equal relationship than it sounds like from your description. If I was to head out on a date with a new guy I'd prefer it be a "I was thinking of these things .." and have a discussion instead of "We're going here to do X." That is if I wasn't picking options to start with!

That being said I do know a few (maybe two) who would rather the guy pick and choose everything. But I also know a few (probably two again) that would rather choose everything themselves as well.

Personally I don't see what the appeal would be to a woman who was passive and let the other person do everything.

Geoff is this a first date, or one of many?
