newbie question
hey guys/gals whats going on im not really new to motorcycles my dad has raced bikes his whole life... well he hasn't rode in about 20 years but you get the point... ok now my question i am 19 iv'e wanted a bike for a while now but, i have some friends that ride bikes and they do not have a motorcycle license is that illegal?? do you haev to have a motorcyle lisence to drive a bike on the streets, my dad told me that he never had one either!!!

yeah, it's the same as driving w/o a lic. it's bad!
i think your bike can get impounded and you will pay hefty fines and probably some more bad stuff. penalties vary by state
check your local laws and DMW regarding lic.

In my state you have to have a specific Motorcycle endorsement to legally ride a motorcycle on the streets. On the flip side, you can also have a license to ride a motorcycle only but not drive a car legally.
In many states, if you pass the MSF BRC course they will give you a waiver for the DMV Road test for your bike. I would suggest taking the BRC regardless because it teaches you a lot of useful information and some insuarance companies give discounts if you have passed the course.

I don't know where you are but here in Florida you can just go to the drivers license place and take the written test and you'll get a 90 day permit and if you haven't taken the skill test after 90 days you can just go back and get another 90 day permit without having to take the written test again.
It's better than driving without a license.
